The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.

~ Dr. Suess

READ TO LEAD TO SUCCEED is a community project that aims to create a social circular economy culture with the love of reading, building community, and spark creativity by fostering miniature lending libraries for First Nations in rural, remote northern areas in British Columbia.  Books that are included in the miniature libraries are: DIY, self-love and children books.

Miniature lending libraries are leading the communal book revolution, bring reading material to the masses at a level that far exceeds their size.

The miniature library concept is simple and on an honesty basis :

Read a Book. Return a Book. Repeat.

what we do

Donate a Book. Shape a Life.

One of the most successful ways to improve the reading achievement of children is to increase their access to books, especially at home. Several times throughout the year, our tiny humans collect donated books for the miniature libraries.  Learn more here

Help spread the love of reading

Our Youth Influencers maintain and manage their book exchanges for the benefit of their community.

We also run a closed Facebook group which allows to grow the sharing network by motivating and supporting our volunteer influencers. It’s super convenient, and it gives our team of youth bookish-influencers the opportunity to engage, collaborate with each other and help one another to grow. Learn more here

It Starts with You

If you know of a First Nation community that needs increased access to books, please encourage them to contact us.

Plant a Seed. Grow a Library.

Our Seed Library operates on the honor system and we encourage to return seeds at the end of the growing season to keep the library well stocked.

Through the time-honored tradition of seed saving we celebrate biodiversity, nurture locally adapted plant varieties, and foster community resilience, self-reliance and a culture of sharing.

The sustaining power of literacy brings undeniable solace. Beyond the simple comfort reading generates, literacy brings a greater contentment: the knowledge that children can follow their dreams in the waking hours as well as in their sleep.

We would like to acknowledge and honour that the miniature libraries take place on traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the indigenous nations. We ask that you take a moment to consider the history of the land that we gather on, your relations with local indigenous people and what we each of us can do to foster meaningful regeneration now and into the future.

Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything .
